This HPSS Residency Program is designed to provide on-the-job training for junior faculty interested in health policy and systems research, akin to a medical residency program, in order to produce a new cadre of young HPSS researchers with the capacity to conduct independent, policy-relevant and scientifically-rigorous. This program is tailored to answer a set of pre-identified research questions related to county hospital reform and gives priorities to training on applied social science theories and methods. It consists of: 1) three in-person one-week training courses; 2) three 2-3 days long-distance meetings in between the courses; 3) guided research projects conducted by participating institutions.

This three-year open-competition (OC) project in HPSS aims to identify effective policy interventions that improve rural recruitment and retention of health professionals in Western China.

The goal of this five year proposal of $297,895 is to build faculty capacity in medical education in China through a collaboration between China Medical University and FAIMER (The Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research).

The purpose of this grant is for the Tsinghua University School of Public Policy and Management to commission series of strategic studies addressing major bottle-neck issues in China's tobacco control, conduct two workshops and produce a volume for dissemination.

This grant supports two training workshops that convene liaison officers of CMB’s grantee schools and CMB staff to work together for improving CMB’s work in China.

This will develop an online training platform and an evaluative system to assess capacity of rural doctors.

This one-year project budgeted at $342,550 will fund three major start-up activities of the CMB-supported Western Rural Health Network.
