Strengthening Institutional Capacity and Human Resources for Rural Health Development
This three-year $100,000 proposal aims to strengthen institutional capacity by developing human resources and information technology at a university that trains paraprofessional health workers. Installation and maintenance of an electronic system connection to the internet and a local area network will enhance the effectiveness and capacity of the university’s library. Short term visits for master degree courses abroad will strengthen capacity of selected faculty members. In-service training will also be provided to 40 faculty members in the form of workshops and seminars. Upgrading current laboratory space and equipment and establishing new training sites will assist in furthering the capacity of the university.
