Doctoral Nursing Faculty Development
Although the West China School of Nursing wishes to establish a doctoral program, it currently has only two faculty members with doctoral degrees. However, it has now developed a cadre of nurses with master’s degrees from the CMB-supported Xi’an-Chiang Mai POHNED program. This proposal aims to increase the number of nursing faculty with doctoral education by five over the next four years. This may position the School to open its own doctoral program thereafter. These faculty members would be selected from the POHNED graduates and would seek admissions and degrees from the relevant schools within Sichuan University including the School of Arts and Sciences and Public Health. This program also would include short-term overseas study and would aim to improve the research capacity of the West China School of Nursing.
