Welcome 2023 Equity Initiative Fellows!

Congratulations to the 30 Fellows who join the Equity Initiative’s 2023 cohort! EI is designed to build a generation of leaders (500+ over 20 years) who are committed to advancing health equity. This cohort – EI’s seventh – brings the total number of Fellows to 157.

The goal of the EI program is to deepen Fellows’ understanding of health equity principles and practices and to strengthen their leadership skills. Peer learning is one of the cornerstones of the fellowship program, and new Fellows will enrich each other’s EI experience as they share their expertise and insights from the fields of medicine and public health, government service and NGO advocacy, social work and education, philanthropy, fundraising, business, social entrepreneurship, and others. We expect that these mid-career professionals will draw on their EI learning, skill building, bonding, and networking in ways that will enhance their work on primary health services, rare diseases, natural resource management, social inclusion, economic growth, preventing gender-based violence, outreach to marginalized communities, and other important issues.

The 2023 Fellows will begin their induction year with the Opening Retreat in March. Our hope is that this will be the beginning of a lifelong connection to EI.
