Thai Princess Hosts Dinner for CMB Leaders
CMB Chair Wendy O’Neill and President Lincoln Chen were graciously hosted for a dinner in Bangkok by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sririndhorn on the evening of October 9. They were joined by three Thai health leaders: Clinical Professor Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, former Minister of Public Health; Clinical Professor Emeritus/Senator Udom Kachintorn, formerly Vice Minister Education; and Professor Prasit Watanapa, Dean and Surgeon of Siriraj Hospital. The visit was an opportunity to discuss regional and global health cooperation, issues of long-standing interest to the Princess. Ms. O’Neill and Dr. Chen expressed their appreciation to the Princess for her support of CMB’s work in Thailand, which has included basing CMB office in Bangkok and collaboration with Thai health leaders on reforming health professional education, building capacity for health systems research, and contributing support for the annual Prince Mahidol Award Conference.
