Equity Initiative COVID-19 Actions: April Newsletter
The Equity Initiative, launched in 2016, is a long-term effort to build leadership for health equity in Southeast Asia and China. Many EI Fellows are active in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating their commitment to advancing health equity during a time of unprecedented crisis. The April issue of the EI Newsletter highlights examples of Fellows’ recent actions – in professions related to governance, policymaking, health promotion, raising public awareness, social services, advocacy, media, the arts, and more. Their efforts in disease control and support of the poor demonstrate ways of combatting health inequities, both acute and long-term, due to disparities in income, education, social access, and opportunities.
