This three-year project at $150,000 intends to develop a nationally representative, real-time monitoring system for serious (near-fatal) obstetric events that can be used to improve obstetric quality and promote relevant policies. Standardized methods will be used to collect information on all pregnant and post-partum women in 120 representative hospitals at county level or above for a one-year period.
