Nursing Faculty and Research Development

The goal of this 3 year proposal for $501,905 is to strengthen PUMC’s nursing faculty by continuing its doctoral training program partnership with Johns Hopkins University and to promote nursing research through establishing a nursing faculty research fund. In the Johns Hopkins doctoral training, four students will be selected for the program, either now working at PUMC or obligated to work for PUMC upon graduation. To promote nursing research, PUMC will identify research priorities and invite proposals on nursing research from faculty in the eight nursing network schools. A review committee will be convened to formulate the guidelines, formats, and development of the proposal review criteria. Faculty from Johns Hopkins will be invited to conduct a research methodology workshop. These core doctoral training and research promotion are considered vital dimensions of building the stature and capacity of nursing in China.
