Modernization of Public Health Education

The goal of this 4-year project for $200,000 is to modernize the public health education at SYSU through curricular reforms to graduate professionals for new roles equipped with more advanced competences. This goal will be addressed through a new 7 year public health post-graduate education program building on the existing 5 year undergraduate medical school degree. The additional two years with include advanced curricular public health curriculum. Successful students will be conferred both degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Master of Public Health at the end of the 7th year. Implementation and enrollment will begin at year 2 or 3 with 30 students per year. The proposal will be submitted to the Ministry of Education for approval. The project will develop a steering committee, expert teams, and a website.
