Continuing Support of Chi Linh Demographic Surveillance System in Vietnam
This five-year proposal aims to continue the support for sustainable development for CHILILAB through 2013.The extended time period will enable Hanoi School of Public Health (HSPH) to modify the demographic and epidemiological health surveillance system reducing survey rounds from four to six months, to add information on use of health services, to track better migration of residents, and to improve the accuracy of cause of death information. Survey collectors and supervisors will be trained to improve the quality of data collected and additional equipment such as computers and servers will upgrade the current database system. Faculty research capacity will be strengthened. For this next phase, HSPH plans to design and implement a public health intervention focusing on adolescent health and also enhance dialogue with stakeholders and local authorities. These communications activities would be pursued through workshops, seminars, and monthly meetings.
