CMB-Collaborating Program in Evidence-Based Policy

Based in the Center for Evidence-Based Medicine of Sichuan University, this three-year grant of $100,000 will support orienting the Center to become a CMB-Collaborating Program in Evidence-Based Policy, broadening the Center’s work from clinical medicine to health policy and systems. The Center plans (1) to develop a methodological approach for four stages of policy-making – problem identification, policy development, implementation, and assessment; (2) to fashion quality assessment tools and approaches for health policy study design and grading of evidence quality; and (3) to upgrade the existing research registry and data sharing platform to systematically assess and summarize health policy studies for public retrieval. Training and dissemination of this work will be facilitated through a virtual network of evidence-based medicine centers in medical schools in China led by the Sichuan Center.
