In China Training: Young Faculty Development

This three-year project budgeted at $820,000 under the collaboration of the Peking Union Medical College and CMB will attempt to develop an in-China training program to expand significantly the pool of young faculty in the 13 CMB-affiliated medical universities able to conduct high-quality multidisciplinary research in health policy and health systems. Following the successful CMB model in mental health research, the in-China training will offer two rounds of RFPs for young faculty to propose their own research projects. In each round, 16 applicants will be selected for a protocol development workshop, and amongst them 8 will receive $10,000 grants for pilot studies, followed by the top 4 faculty members receiving an average of $40,000 for a full research project. The training would be provided by faculty, both Chinese and international.
