Capacity Building in Professional Education for Primary Care in Laos
n June 2011, Trustees approved an appropriation of $300,000 to strengthen the capacity in professional education of Laos’ premier health professional university.This project provides funds for strengthening the competencies of graduates of public health, nursing, and primary medicine in Laos. This project has a component to bring together Mekong regional schools to share experiences in primary health care in Luang Prabang in January 2012. This workshop was later expanded into a Greater Mekong Subregion deans’ meeting with broader regional representation. This modification will increase the originally approved appropriation by $8,450, which is the purpose of this appropriation request.
