Wenkai Li, Chief Representative
Wenkai Li was appointed in January 2015 the CMB Beijing Office Director and Senior Program Manager. Reporting to the President, he oversees the administrative, personnel, and financial functions of CMB’s operations in China and serves as a senior team member of the CMB program group to design, plan, conduct, and evaluate CMB’s multi-faceted China programs.
Wenkai returned to China to fulfill his strong desire to contribute to the strengthening of China’s academic capacity in health sciences. He brings to CMB high levels of expertise in his specialized fields of health informatics, infectious disease control, health care systems, and IT-based health innovations. Prior to CMB, he was a Team Lead/Senior Health Informatics Scientist at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA. Earlier in China, he served as a program officer in the National Institute of Hospital Administration in China’s Ministry of Health.
Wenkai received his medical degree from Peking University Health Sciences Center and obtained two masters degrees in computer information systems and actuarial sciences from Georgia State University in the US.
